Original Donut Shop

I came in to shoot a video and I fell in love with the toasted bean and cheese. The service was quick, and the place really had a home vibe that felt authentic.

How in the world have I not written about my love affair with the Original Donut Shop??? Their breakfast tacos are the things dreams are made of. My favorite is the toasted bean, cheese, and bacon. Gosh, I become a bottomless pit. Their homemade tortillas are delicious, fluffy, pillowy goodness. Their tacos are stuffed with any delicious combination you can think of. I've never had a taco I didn't enjoy!! And if you prefer a sweet breakfast, they offer an assortment of equally pillowy, light, tasty sweet donuts. The donut holes are freaking addictive, the apple fritters are fire! I love any donut with a filling.... And now I'm hungry! Okay, so what's wrong with the place. Technically nothing, but they do have extreme peak times in the restaurant and in the drive thru. You can order online for pickup, but sometimes that pickup line is down the street. Once my boyfriend kindly agreed to pick up an order and almost waited an hour in line, but it was absolutely worth it!! You can order inside to-go out to eat in the restaurant, but the lines can be crazy. Any way you slice it, your going to win because they are that good! PS need to go to get some to add pictures.

Finally after 5 years I tried the original donut shop! We got 2 bean and cheese tacos and half a dozen donuts with some donut holes. Came at the right time on a Sunday because not even 5 minutes later the line was astronomical down the road. But service was quick and food was delicious. The glazed donut was top notch and blows chain donut shops out of the water! Support local and come get your morning donuts

Came in for some tacos and wasn't disappointed had a carne guisada. Rotini and egg and bean and cheese with bacon. All the tacos were served fresh and fast. First time eating here in years but I'll be back soon.

Came here to grab some breakfast tacos and donuts for my friends. We saw a busy drive through so we decided to just park and stop in since we had time and weren't in a rush. Inside was pretty busy too, so good signs I would say. We got a handful of breakfast tacos, such as sausage and egg, potato and egg, and bean and egg. These are individually wrapped and honestly pretty big. They do not skimp on the filling at all and I liked the tortilla texture, nice and chewy. They provided green and red salsa too. I had potato and egg and bean and egg. The fillings that I got were not super salty, which is good if you prefer to season it yourself but I was hoping for some more flavor. The salt packets they provide + the salsa added the perfect amount of flavor and spice I needed. We also got some donuts as well. The donuts are affordable, large, and delicious. I ate a chocolate glazed donut in a couple quick bites and wish I got more than 1. Customer service was friendly, food was good, and I would recommend this as a great breakfast place those visiting San Antonio.
